Siena
used to be a pack/trail horse for a company in the Jasper, AB
area. I bought her from a horse trader who had pastured her over
two years for the previous owner. While she was pastured she had
a coloured foal, or so we are told. At any rate, we believe she
is a Thoroughbred crossed with Quarter Horse or Paint. She has
a brand on her right thigh that is registered to her previous
owner.
Siena was eight years old when we bought her in
June 2004 and though she has not had a lot of advanced training
outside the basics (she doesn't yet neck rein) she is very calm
and not at all spooky. Her feet were in terrible condition when
we got her. Her trimming had been neglected while she was pastured
and the resulting condition was not pretty, but my farrier assured
me that the toe to coronet cracks would grow out. She is a good
horse for a confident beginner rider. We sold Siena in June 2005
to a wonderful young lady named Cristy Butler and her husband
who live in Williams Lake. Last we heard they were absolutely
thrilled with Siena!
Here are a few photos of Siena!
